National Women’s Alliances’ Submission on Australia’s Priorities at CSW68

20 December 2023

The Commission on the Status of Women is an annual meeting at the UN in New York in March each year. Australia has a strong history of involvement in CSW and is an important player in the negotiations of the Agreed Conclusions document, which sets out the commitments States are making to progressing gender equality under the priority theme. In 2024, the priority theme for CSW will be "accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective." In November ERA held a forum to discuss the priority theme. Following that forum, ERA has worked with the National Women's Alliances and other NGOs to produce a submission to the Australian government on what Australia's priorities should be at CSW68. Check out the submission below.
