The Council of Single Mothers and their Children is undertaking a national survey of single mothers. Participants’ experiences and priorities will inform their work towards a world in which single mothers are valued and treated equally and fairly. Please share with your service users, friends and colleagues, and if relevant, complete it yourself. Participants go into a draw to win one of eight $50 Visa gift cards. Survey closes Sunday 8 October. You can take the survey here.

The Women’s Electoral Lobby would like to know what’s on your mind in the lead up to the next Federal Election. By completing this survey, you will help us to identify the top issues and questions to put to federal candidates around Australia. The survey closes December 2018. You can take the survey here.

Sign this petition calling on the Federal Government to make the ParentsNext program voluntary and incentivised, not compulsory and punitive. ParentsNext is part of the new DHS legislation that requires women with children from just 6 months old to participate in ‘job seeker’ like activities. The program is punitive. If parents don’t make an appointment due to their child being sick or other reasons associated with poverty, then their payments are cancelled. This means the Government is taking desperately needed money away from potentially impoverished women and children. This is particularly concerning considering the Government has touted ParentsNext as addressing intergenerational poverty.
