The National Foundation of Australian Women has released the Gender Lens on the 17-18 Budget, bringing together a gendered analysis of measures in the Budget with recommendations to enhance gender awareness and responsiveness in the Budget cycle.
The Australian Government Budget process does not incorporate gender responsive budgeting nor produce a Women’s Budget Statement. Without which, gender equality objectives are absent from budget processes and the impacts of Budget measures on women are made invisible. Civil Society has taken on the role of producing a comprehensive gendered analysis and report of the Budget with the #NFAWGenderLens.
ERA is pleased to contribute to the report with our gendered analysis of housing affordability measures in the Budget.
