- Are you a young person or youth led organisation who develops, runs, and/or advocates for feminist education programs?
- Are you a young person or youth led organisation involved in educative feminist media and academia?
(Youth led organisations are defined as organisations that are predominantly governed and staffed by young people)
The Young Women’s Advisory Group (YWAG) to Equality Rights Alliance (ERA) is an independent group of ten young women aged 18-30 across Australia, bringing young women’s voices and perspectives to the national policy space and ERA’s advocacy. In recent years, YWAG has focused on highlighting young women’s experiences of sexuality and relationships education in Australia, in an effort to improve the delivery of this type of education.
Through YWAG’s advocacy work, the group has identified the need to connect young people and youth led organisations engaged in this field. As such, YWAG has decided to establish the National Young Feminist Education Collective, with an aim to build and strengthen a diverse network of young people, and particularly young women, working on feminist, sexuality and relationships education.
If you fit the bill and are interested in connecting with other young people and sharing knowledge and opportunities for collaboration, please contact YWAG member Erin Gillen (firstname.lastname@example.org) for further information.
