World renowned women’s rights activist Dr Srilatha Batliwala has joined forces with Action Aid Australia to host this Feminist Leadership Workshop. Dr Srilatha Batliwala is the Director of Knowledge Building and Feminist Leadership with CREA.
The workshop aims to promote leadership practice that is more reflective of feminist and social justice values by giving participants both the theoretical and practical tools to interrogate and transform dominant leadership patterns. It focuses on building deeper awareness of the root causes of social justice and exclusion in order to drive more effective and informed strategies for social change.
Day 1: Power, Patriarchy and Feminism – clarifying our concepts, dispelling myths
Day 2: Understanding organisational deep structures and “power under”; Feminist Leadership for transforming our organisations and societies
The workshop will take place at Collective Purpose, Williams Street, Sydney CBD on August 15-16 from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
In order to cover the workshop facilitation and venue costs, there is a registration fee of $475 per person, which includes lunch and morning and afternoon tea on both days. A limited number of scholarships (free places) are available to support young and diverse women interested in participating in the workshop and those working in feminist organisations with limited resources.
